Self-Promotion Sunday!!! (I'M MOVING!!!)

HELLO EVERYONE! AND HAPPY SUNDAY! I hope everyone is doing well and safe on this lovely Sunday evening. I am a sweaty MESS after this weekend, which I spent doing ROUND 1 of moving into my new place! Yup! The move has begun, my friends!

Despite the fact that this move will be a VERY drawn out process, the upside of this is two-fold: first, I can get rid of things I no longer want or need. Depending on what these things are, they can go to Goodwill or they can go in the trash. Either way, I am able to get some downsizing done! And that, in and of itself, will be FABULOUS! (Even though I will NEVER downside my collection!)

The second positive is that, unlike trying to move everything at once, this allows for things to be organized as they get moved into the new space! Rather than try and do everything all at once, this will make things easier to organize, clean, and make feel more homey as I bring them over.

However, this does mean that my Etsy store might be down for a bit. It WILL be open next weekend for CouchCon, so never fear, and if you have a current order open with me, I will make sure that they get filled. Just please, bear with me on it!

In the meantime, I have some new designs up on my Redbubble and TeePublic. I want to try and figure out a way make these either a patch or a pin, and I hope you will provide me with a direction on which way to go with these. They are my Rose Pride designs. Inspired by the Utena rose crest, I wanted to do something that was both beautiful and powerful. I am working on a way I can donate some of the earnings to specific charities, but I have not yet figured out HOW. But please, do not let that deter you from purchasing the designs. And these are by no means ALL the designs, these just happen to be the first ones I put up on either page. So I hope you like them, and please tell me how you might like to see these designs in the future!

Happy Self-Promotion Sunday!

Hello everyone! And welcome once again to Self-Promotion Sunday. I apologize that I am STILL super horrible at keeping up with these as of late.  Between end of school year grading, and my move happening in 6 days (which will last for about a month), I have just been feeling done.

The move, I hope, will invigorate me a bit, and I am hoping that once the move is done, and I have a little time, I will be feeling a bit better since the school year will be over. But this also means that I won't be posting for a while due to the move! I am sorry, but I will just be too preoccupied to post! I will return to posting mid- to late July!

However, at least today, I have some new stuff to advertise: NEW KEYCHAINS ARE IN!! Lots of lovely new designs are up on my Etsy, and I am super pumped to get them out! Hopefully they start to fly off the shelves, give me a bit of supplemental income to help with moving!

Fluttershy Friday! (139, 140, 141)

So, I've been very bad about trying to keep up with the blog lately. Between the end of the school year, feeling down in the dumps, and my upcoming move, things have just been a bit chaotic. Beyond that, I don't have much of an excuse, but I hope you can all forgive me.

I have 3 new Fluttershy's to show off, two plushies from some of the online pony conventions I have been attending, and one from Amazon, a collector's piece that has become very popular with pony fans!

First is my newest officially licensed piece, the Bishoujo Fluttershy. I have been LUSTING after this piece for some time! It was quite lovely, but I wasn't able to afford her until recently. Right now, I am keeping her in her box, although I am not sure if I want to take her out even when I move.

Next up, I got two mini plushies from some online conventions that I have been attending. Both of these little girls are quite adorable and while they look like a beanie style, they are not. They are quite solid. One was done by Lumiescent Plushies and the other by Hibiscus Stitch!

Self-Promotion Sunday!

Hello everyone! And welcome once again to Self-Promotion Sunday. I apologize that I am super horrible at keeping up with these as of late. Quarantine has been getting to me as of late, and with the end of the school year approaching, I have been feeling more burnout as of late. With my impending move, I have been doing less and less work. Normally, around this time of year, I would be ramping up production to get ready for cons, but with more and more cons cancelling before I move, I have just been feeling horrendous. It's harder and harder lately to get the urge to do a lot of drawing or sculpting. As I said, I think quarantine has been getting to me. While I am not going to go running out once things are lifted (I still want to be safe), I miss going out to a movie, I miss going to the mall, heck I miss going to WORK!

I do appreciate our essential workers from the bottom of my heart, even if those essential workers are not obvious. For example, where my significant other works, they have been making masks for the front line workers. Another con has bitten the dust, and I am feeling like my summer of convention fun has been ruined. Here is the updated list:

CouchCon: June 25-28
ConnetiCon: July 9-12
TrotCon: POSTPONED TO 2021
TerrifiCon: August 14-16
RetroWorld Expo: September 5-6
CT GamerCon: September 12-13
Hudson Valley CC: September 26-27
IncrediCon: October/November (TBD)

Anyway, there is one thing I have finished, which are some paint pours with Justice League hero silhouettes cut into them. I made them for TerrifiCon, although who knows if that's going to happen at this rate.

I also have put up some stuff on my Etsy page that I haven't had up before, like my buttons and MLP prints. I'm working on getting up my smaller prints, but that might take a bit longer. Make sure you check them out!:

Happy Self-Promotion Sunday!

Hello fellow readers! I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy as we await the reopening of everything around us. Some places have already started, and I won't lie, there's a part of me that is impatient to go DO something outside of my home. One can only do the same thing over and over again for so long.

I know I mentioned that I would be taking a break shortly, and that's because I will be moving soon, as well as a lot of my cons have been cancelled. However, I have been doing my best to take part in virtual cons, and will have one (CouchCon) coming up at the end of June. Hopefully, my July conventions will be OK. But for now, let me give you a bit of an update on convention status

CouchCon: June 25-28
ConnetiCon: July 9-12
TrotCon: July 17-19
TerrifiCon: August 14-16
RetroWorld Expo: September 5-6
CT GamerCon: September 12-13
Hudson Valley CC: September 26-27
IncrediCon: October/November (TBD)

In the meantime, I have up two more figurines on my Etsy page plus a sponsored pin design, a few new designs on both my TeePublic and Redbubble pages, and some keychain designs in the works. Let's start with what's on Etsy: New papercrafts, new figurines, and an enamel pin that I helped sponsor of Daybreaker. I only have 9 of them, so better jump on them soon!

Here are some of my newer designs up on both my print pages or that will be turned into keychains (or all of the above):

Movie Review Monday, and it's a BOMBSHELL!

In this time of lock-down, many of us are binging TV shows that we have been meaning to catch up on. And while I have been joining many of the masses in binging on missed TV shows, I am also binging on missed movies. So to start my list, I figured I would begin with “Bombshell,” the sleeper that came out at the end of last year from the directors of the movies “Vice” and “The Big Short.”

"Bombshell" (Director: Jay Roach)

This movie talks about sexual harassment in the workplace, specifically focusing on the Fox News scandal that Gretchen Carlson (played by Nicole Kidman) brought against Roger Ailes (John Lithgow). Now, sexual harassment can go both ways in the workplace, this one just happened to focus on this specific case. The original thought is that Gretchen is just trying to get back at the company because she was fired, when the reality is, she was done with being sexually harassed on and off the air. But she is not the first woman to have it happen to her, and that’s what she is counting on as she brings the lawsuit against Ailes. She’s specifically hoping to get women from Fox News, but many are silent—most noticeably Megan Kelly (played by Charlize Theron). Megan Kelly is the opposite of Gretchen: while Gretchen is the victim who wishes to step forward and DO something about her situation, Megan is the one who is silent, who fears retribution, and doesn’t know exactly what she can say to whom. It’s interest to see the two ends of the spectrum of the victim presented to the viewer, especially from two people who were very noticeable in the media. The other character at play in this film is Kayla (Margot Robbie), who is meant to be a composite character of other women who were harassed by Ailes, and it’s when Kayla is approached by Megan that Kayla breaks and confides what happened to her.

This movie was definitely a bit of a sleeper, and felt a bit different from the other movies that this directing team has brought us. There were none of the break-out explanations that were very obvious in “The Big Short” or somewhat subtle in “Vice,” but that’s because this movie didn’t need those explanations. Because the women were recounting their stories, the explanations were in the recollection. And the ending monologue that talked about how the victim feels after the incident takes place is one that everyone should pay attention to, because that is how a victim can feel. And it is a mentality that should be erased.

Self-Promotion Sunday!

Hello my fellow readers! I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy during this holiday season. Whether you celebrate Easter, Passover, or anything else, I hope you are doing well. As I write this, I am still unsure what is happening with many of my conventions, just like many of my fellow artists. The next show is supposed to be Hudson Valley Comic Con, which was one of the first cons I did outside of a pony convention. I have a feeling it may not happen when it's supposed to, but I will keep you all posted. Next week, I will post a list again of my conventions and their dates.

In the meantime, just like many of you, I am cooped up at home. I was hoping that I might be able to do some more artwork, but I am finding that I may not be to do so. Since I am a teacher, I am having to try and keep ahead of my students, which means I have been making a lot of videos and examples. Not exactly the easiest thing to do, trying to keep ahead of at least 10 grade levels worth of classes. So, after I finish up the current pieces I am working on, I will be closing commissions and not making anything new until summer starts, and I move into my new place.

Yup, you read that right. I will be moving once the school year is over! I will be moving in with my significant other and the move should be finished right before I would head off to ConnectiCon. This would hopefully mean I would have enough stock before that con and TrotCon as well. I am hoping at least that I'll have a few new figurines in time for that.

In the meantime, I have at least a few new pieces I have finished, and will hopefully be up on Etsy within the week. There should be some new ones for next week as well. I am also working on some new designs for keychains, and have new designs on my Redbubble and TeePublic pages. Make sure you check those out!

Happy Fluttershy Friday! I'M MOVING!!! (Also, #154, 155, 156, and 157!!!)

OK, so first and foremost, SO SORRY for not a lot of posts. Creative burnout is real, as well as some BIG news... I AM MOVING INTO MY OWN H...
