Happy Fluttershy Friday A Day Late (#151 and 152)

Hello my followers, and apologies for the delay! Holidays are always a bit nuts, and with how last year was in general, it was even more so. I know I haven't even done a Movie Review Monday in a while. but honestly, it's hard to review movies that you are seeing at home. I don't know what it is, but the experience is just different. I am sure many of you can relate.

However, forward we shall march! On to 2021! I hope everyone had a safe and healthy start to the new year, and I hope people continue to stay as healthy as they can, until you are able to get vaccinated, if you so choose. In the meantime, let's look at adorable Fluttershy stuff.

So, the army continues to grow, and honestly, I am running out of room...yet again! I am hopeful, though, that soon I may expand a bit more, as my husband and I begin looking at new and larger places to live. We shall see, though. But I recently added two more girls to my collection:

First, using a gift card I was given, I purchased the WizKids Deep Cuts Unpainted Miniatures My Little Pony Fluttershy Individual Pack. I am not sure if I will take her out of the box, because she kind of looks cool this way. I definitely don't want to paint her, but maybe I will get another of her, and do some painting on her. Could be fun, things to think about.

Second, I got another Fluttershy plush! This one is a floppy beanie type, which I can leave on my shoulder if I so choose. This is done by Kazzy Plush, and the funny thing is, I have a plush by her already in my collection: a smaller Fluttershy that squeaks! I am hoping she will come out with a Flutterbat like this! Would be super cute! I am always searching for more Flutterbat stuff so if you know of any, send it my way!

Happy Fluttershy Friday (#147, 148, 149 and 150)

Hello my fellow readers and happy Fluttershy Friday! I know it has been a very long time since I have posted about any Fluttershys, Flutterbats, or any news in particular. I apologize for that. Things have been very hectic due to my wedding, then schools moving to distance learning, then lots of illness for me (NOT COVID thankfully) that has me partially blind due to swelling around my eye. I have basically been laid up pretty bad, so I apologize for my lack of posts. HOWEVER, I am (somewhat) back, and I can post some Fluttershy news!

So, let's follow-up with the Army! It has expanded, and continues to expand. I swear, if I ever move into a home, it's going to take up an entire room, this entire collection. I don't mind, and the hubby doesn't seem to either.

First up, another Cutie Mark Crew Fluttershy, this one of the newer ones so the eyes are a bit closer to what you see in the new show (which, I am sorry, feels like an acid trip) and has glitter mane.

Next up, a lovely custom Flutterbat for the special forces as I call them! This one made by the lovely Roogna of Roogna's Custom Creations. I have gotten a few pieces from her before, and this was such a wonderful collaboration with her.

Third, we have what is pretty much a duplicate: the G1 version of Fluttershy. Now, this girl came as part of a set, and I do have the set. But I did want this girl loose so she could be a part of the official collection, so I found someone who broke up the set, and was able to snag the Fluttershy.

And lastly, cause I JUST snagged her, a Fluttershy in a stocking, perfect for the holidays! This girl makes 150! And thank you to Peruser of Pieces for her! I can't wait for her to adorn my fireplace for the season then join the collection! AND GO CHECK OUT TROTCON ONLINE TO HELP MY FELLOW SELLERS!

Self-Promotion Sunday!

My apologies to all my readers. Between the wedding and then my work having to close due to COVID until the new year, I have been just beyond swamped. Making digital projects for my middle school and quick, easy one day projects for my elementary school has become draining, making me almost hate art. It has taken the unfortunate death of a pet of a friend to make me start doing anything art related again. I am hoping to have quite a few pieces up in my shop for the holidays, so please, make sure you check out my Etsy page: https://www.etsy.com/shop/TrotLOeilArt

Let me show off what I have:

NEW KEYCHAINS! I got a bunch of new keychains in, and they are all up on my Etsy page, ready to be given for holiday gifts, or even nice enough for mini ornaments! Some are new designs, some are old ones that I needed to restock.

Fluttershy Rapunzel (or Rapshy as I have taken to calling her) is IN! I should have around 10-15 for sale, and perfect for any pony or princess lover! She's up for sale here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/909780905/rapshy-pin?ref=listings_manager_grid

Also, Nightmare Rarity (or Nightmarity) has arrived in shop. She is available for sale here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/882055191/nightmarity-enamel-pin?ref=shop_home_active_1

Speaking of pins, I am sponsoring a new pin from Sophie Scruggs based on Snowdrop, the fan made blind pegasus. This has been a little bit of a dream of mine, even more than Flutterbat. There's not enough Snowdrop love out there. Plus, this design is based off of the design I came up with for the ornament picture of Snowdrop for the Hearth's Warming Countdown Calendar I made. I'm super in love with how Sophie took my design and ran with it!

There's going to be more posted on my Etsy site soon, just in time for the holidays! Make sure you keep an eye out for everything! And I am going to see about having a holiday promo code, which I will probably preview next week.

Self-Promotion Sunday!

OH MY GOODNESS HAS IT REALLY BEEN THAT LONG?! I am so sorry my fellow readers, but as the school year began, I got engaged and have been planning my wedding for Halloween THIS YEAR! Not much time, I know, but if we didn't do it, then I don't know how long we would be waiting to just get married.

Anyway, because of all these plans, as well as the stress of trying to teach during COVID, there has not been much that I have been doing in terms of my own personal work. For that, I apologize. However, I know I have some keychains coming in soon, so I will do an unboxing video for those! I haven't done one of those in a while, have I?

I'm also running a sale on my Etsy story! If you order over $20 worth of merch, you can get 20% off your entire order, if you use the code WEDDING 20 so make sure you check that out!!!

In the meantime, I do have a few preorder slots of this LOVELY Fluttershy Rapunzel left, with the artwork by the AMAZING Sophie Scruggs! Check out the form which has been enclosed!

Happy SPS

Hello everyone, and happy Self-Promotion Sunday! I am finally back to having power, and I am slowly getting into a groove of having some semblance of normalcy. I am hoping to really start getting more figurines out in the coming weeks, but in the meantime, I do have some new digital designs in the works, as well as I am working on some designs to get done as keychains. But my newest designs are some fancy versions of Galarian Ponyta and Galarian Rapidash, which I have for sale up on my TeePublic and Redbubble pages. I am making them into keychains, with one side being regular and the other being the shiny side.

Also, check out the newest pin I am sponsoring from Sophie Scruggs! It's a Nightmare Rarity (or Nightmarity) design! And I cannot wait! Pre-order forms are available here: https://forms.gle/j9eF3nNyDFq1QGLu8

FLUTTERSHY FRIDAY (#146) and other news!

Hello my fellow readers and HAPPY FLUTTERSHY FRIDAY!!! First up, I want to relay a few things. I am finally back online after having no power for over a week, as well as being on vacay. Sorry, but vacay was DEFINITELY needed, especially as the school year begins looming large in the forefront of my mind. For those of you who do not know, I am a teacher. Please make sure you read my plea HERE, and pass along to anyone who you know is a parent or has school age children.

I wanted to also update anyone who has purchased a Flutterbat pin from me: they are currently in transit to me. As we all know, the lovely and talented Sophie Scruggs made these pins, and because of COVID, she is only able to send out stuff once a week, if that. Add to that the US Postal Service is now having even more issues and you have a very delayed shipment. I am HOPING to get round one of the pins out by Monday, and everyone who pre-ordered to be shipped no later than Thursday.

Also, for those of you who have seen the preview, I will be opening up preorders of the new Nightmare Rarity (or Nightmarity) on Sunday! Here is a look from the manufacturer, just to wet your appetite! She's gonna be SOOOOO SHINY!!!

Anyway, I cannot forget, it IS Fluttershy Friday, after all. I do have a new Fluttershy to the army, a lovely McDonald's Fluttershy, that I definitely don't remember seeing in the US. Maybe it was international only. I don't know. All I know is, this is one of the better McDonald ones I've seen. Also included, MY ARMY WHEN IT'S ALL LIT UP!!! (When we had no power, this was just AWESOME to look at!)

A Teacher's Plea

To My Fellow Readers:

This is a different kind of blog, more of a serious note. As many of you might know, I am an art teacher. I teach PreK to 8th grade art, and as you can imagine, since the shutdown, it's been a bit rough. As the school year begins to draw closer and closer, a looming sort of dread has been hanging over my head. I can't fight the incoming juggernaut, but I feel the need to provide my point of view.

First and foremost, don't think we don't want to go back to the classroom. I can tell you first hand I HATED trying to figure out how to teach art digitally. I spent my spring break making at least 2-3 videos for students each day, just so I could be ahead of them. But I am also aware that quite a few of my students and co-workers have underlying health issues, myself included. We want to be safe, not just for ourselves, but for your students as well. We don't want to have to choose, and many of us feel like we have to. That's why you see so many teachers retiring right now: they feel like they have no choice in the matter. And as an art teacher who teaches at not one, but two schools, I feel doubly at risk. It's scary, but this is also an economy that I am unable to retire or quit from my job because I feel at risk, since I would not be able to find anything else. Plus, I love what I do! I love coming up with unique lessons, and showing students a new way of thinking! But this sort of graph shown below scares me.

I also want to take a moment to talk about supply lists: DO NOT DISREGARD THEM! This is a year when you cannot disregard them, but you have to double whatever you need. NO TEACHER IS ALLOWED TO PROVIDE SUPPLIES! Not even pencils! Whatever your students' teachers are sending home as a supply list, please do not roll your eyes and think "Oh, my kid can get this at school or from a friend." NO THEY CAN'T!!! Especially at my school, sharing will not be allowed. Even for an art classroom, which makes things harder for me especially. If I were a parent, I would be taking the class supply list, and doubling it, no joke. I would also be getting extra supplies while the sales are going on. And I don't just mean sales at Target or Walmart. I mean Dollar Tree, CVS, Five Below, ANYWHERE!!! And even for art supplies, you don't need to go to Michaels or any specialty art store to get anything. All of the places I listed above sell whatever you need for an art class. And I guarantee, not only will the art teachers thank you, but the regular teachers will as well, if you student is extra prepared! And by going for the sales NOW, you can save more than if it was during the school year. So PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!!! GET MORE SUPPLIES THAN NECESSARY!

Also: MASKS! I know not every school is requiring them, and even with my schools, for the littlest kids, they are optional. BUT THINK ABOUT IT! We all know that the masks aren't 100% foolproof, but they are better than nothing! Let me explain it as an art teacher: let's say everyone is sitting at a table doing a drawing. Someone chooses to use glitter, which if you don't know how glitter works, STICKS TO EVERYTHING!!!! Now, that person pours glitter, no matter how carefully, over their paper. Once they get enough, they have to take off the excess, which they do by blowing. How many people have glitter all over their paper now?

Lastly, I want to circle back to health. And I don't mean the health of the faculty, but the health of the students. While I might work in private schools, they aren't wealthy. In fact, they are on the poorer end. These are the sort of schools where many students get reduced or free lunch, and many are on scholarships. While there is nothing wrong with this, this does mean that sometimes, students come to school when sick. They are given fever reducing medicine, or something else, to make sure they can function during the school day. And while I can understand that for parents, a sick child can mean the difference between staying home from work or making a living, this is not the time to further risk your child. Your child's immune system will be down, making them further susceptible to any illness, COVID-19 included. You have no idea who might have the illness, because they could be asymptomatic for days. People don't typically show symptoms until Day 6, if they even show them at all. Ever hear of Typhoid Mary? She was a cook that got MANY people sick (and plenty died) with typhoid, and she NEVER showed any symptoms herself. Seriously, look it up.

Please take this seriously. I know many of us are frustrated, but I don't want to see your kids sick, and I don't want your kids to hear I'm sick or in the hospital. It's a scary thought. Please take everything your schools are saying seriously, because yes, we are trying to help you, but we can only do so much.

Happy Fluttershy Friday! I'M MOVING!!! (Also, #154, 155, 156, and 157!!!)

OK, so first and foremost, SO SORRY for not a lot of posts. Creative burnout is real, as well as some BIG news... I AM MOVING INTO MY OWN H...
